I received my Captain’s License this week and the feeling is beyond description. I can also say without hesitation that the owner and teaching staff at NEM are over the top special, know their stuff inside and out and are always glad to assist. I can’t imagine how you could even think of taking the exam without this course and instructors at NEM. In fact, it’s more than a course, it’s a commitment to give students all the help, assistance and encouragement they need to become a Captain.
Overall, I passed the tests with flying colors! When I needed extra assistance with the plotting portion of the course, Patick and assisting instructors were more than happy to see me in-person to complete this module and elevate my confidence to test properly. The best part of this school involvement is the assistance after testing to gather all materials needed to apply to the Coast Guard for the actual license. They genuinely are just a phone call away and answer promptly!
If you own a boat, and spend any amount of time on the water, you need to take this class. The class is intense and covers a tremendous amount of material, however if you follow the format provided by the instructors, it is very doable. The instructors are excellent, and have years of experience and knowledge, and they present the material in a clear, concise fashion. They are very patient and make themselves available to answer questions and provide extra help above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about New England Maritime, and highly recommend taking this class.
Your Boat Safety course was excellent. I had to start from scratch. The course forced me to read and re-read each manual. I felt that I got a thorough education on the basics of boating safety. Now I have a baseline to build on going forward.
The instrucgtors were very knowledgeable and provided all necessary lectures, books and materials in preparation for the exams. The school also gave guidance to understanding the licensing requirements and direciton filling out the license application. I highly recommend New England Maritime for anyone pursuing a captain's license.
I'm so grateful for the supportive staff at NEM! They helped me with accurate preparation for the tests, then helped me jump through all the hoops of getting my Limited Master's Credential! Thanks guys!!!
